How to keep your travel itinerary on your phone

Short answer

Put the trip’s flights, stays, and trains in its Plan on Trips. Forward each confirmation email to trips@roamwellapp.com from your booking email, and it lands in the Plan. You can also add items with Add to plan or import a calendar file.

If you forward confirmations to TripIt today, this is the same habit: one forward, and the booking shows up in the trip.

Set up forwarding once

  1. Sign in to Roamwell.
  2. In Settings, tap Add booking email and enter the address your bookings go to.
  3. If Roamwell asks you to “Send a message from that inbox” with a Roamwell-claim subject, send it. That proves the address is yours.
  4. Forward a confirmation from that address to trips@roamwellapp.com.
  5. “Hide My Email” won’t work as a sender. Use the address you book with.

Settings also shows your own Booking email address. Tap Copy address and give it to an airline or hotel when you book.

Where a forwarded booking lands

If it fits a trip you have, it goes into that trip’s Plan. If it doesn’t, Roamwell asks Create a new trip? Tap Create trip, or Keep unfiled to leave it under Unfiled on Trips until you file it.

Add the rest by hand

  1. On Trips, tap Create a trip. Give it a name and dates.
  2. Tap Add to plan and choose what it is: a flight, a stay, a car, a cruise, or an activity. Fill in what you know. The rest can wait.
  3. Got a calendar invite or a Roamwell plan file? Tap Import plan.

If a new item overlaps a trip you already have, Roamwell asks Same trip? so you don’t end up with two copies of Lisbon.

On the day

When today is inside the trip’s dates, Roamwell offers Start a Trip. Trips then shows what’s next and where you’re staying tonight. Around Me opens Apple Maps near you.

The forwarding address
trips@roamwellapp.com, from a booking email you proved in Settings.
A booking that fits no trip
Roamwell asks whether to create a trip. Keep unfiled leaves it under Unfiled on Trips.
After the planned dates
Roamwell asks before moving the trip to Past trips. It never files the trip away on its own.
